Samsung TV Plus CTV is As Big As Other Major Streaming Players
TV Tech giant Samsung released information about their FAST Service Samsung TV Plus – they now have 88+ million monthly active users on Samsung TVs in the United States.
Samsung TV Plus’s FAST service allows individuals to watch free TV on broadcast schedules (like linear TV/cable), but they can access popular channels supported by streaming advertisements. These ads are still classified as CTV when the premium streaming is occurring on Connected TV devices, as opposed to OTT which refers to streaming on non-television devices. Samsung TV Plus’s inventory includes partner channel access from NBC Universal, Disney, FOX, Paramount, A&E, as well as exclusive channels like Conan.
“We’re over indexing on 18 to 49, that key adult demo that most advertisers are interested in. We’re also over indexing on prime time and late night viewing, so the core times as well as the core audiences”
Michael Scott, VP and Head of Sales Operations, Samsung Ads
Samsung TV Plus’s announcement of 88+ million monthly active users puts them in the same size as other streaming giants, such as Pluto, Tubi and Roku Channel – each having MAUs of between 80-90 million.
